Introduction

VLSI & Embedded Systems Research Center was established at Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, in collaboration with Avieon Inc. of California, USA in February 2006. The lab is administered by the Department of Computer Engineering at Sir Syed University.

The objective of this research center is to provide facilities for cutting edge design and research work in the field of VLSI and Embedded Systems. Currently, our research work is primarily focused on the development of high performance, embedded multimedia and image processing solutions.

Research center is operating under the technical leadership of Dr. Aamir Farooqui, Chief Technology Officer at Avieon Inc. and Dr. Mumtaz-ul-Imam, Chairman of the Computer Engineering Department at Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology.

Currently the Research Center has 7 employees working on different research projects under the guidance of Dr.Aamir Farooqui with all necessary equipments and facilities provided by SSUET
